Local business owners

Use the exact name, address and phone that appear on your Google Business Profile. Matching details help Google connect your website to your Maps listing.

Shops

Add Product schema to each product page with its real price and stock status. Update it when the price changes, or Google may stop showing it.

After you publish

Test the page in Google's Rich Results Test, then watch the Enhancements section of Search Console for errors over the next few weeks.

Questions

About schema

What is schema markup?

Schema markup is a small block of code that tells search engines exactly what a page is about: a business with an address and opening hours, a product with a price, or a list of questions and answers. Google uses it to show rich results such as star ratings and FAQs.

Which schema type should I use?

Use Local business on the home or contact page of a shop, office or factory with a real address. Use Organization for online businesses. Use Product on product pages, FAQ page on pages with questions and answers, and Article on blog posts.

Where do I paste the JSON-LD?

Paste the whole script block inside the head or body of the page it describes. Each page should only describe itself, so put Product schema on that product's page, not on every page.

Can I add ratings without real reviews?

No. Google's rules only allow ratings that come from real customer reviews shown on your site. Leave the rating fields empty if you don't have them, or Google may ignore your schema or penalise the page.
